Features
The unique properties of the split bamboo mat
Bamboo Import's split bamboo mats have many unique features. For example, each bamboo strip is unique and therefore color variations in a bamboo mat are possible. In addition, the height and width of each bamboo strip and each bamboo mat may vary. Split bamboo mats have a natural color and are untreated.
When used outdoors, the bamboo mats may gray. Therefore, we recommend treating the mats annually with bamboo protector, a specially developed UV-resistant stain that slows the aging process and thus increases the durability of the bamboo. Also, in the winter months, the split bamboo mats may start to look darker, this discoloration is easy to clean in the summer, however.
Bamboo Import's bamboo mats are easy to size, easy to install and packaged in a convenient carrying bag making transportation very easy.
Bamboo
Features
Sustainable
Bamboo is one of the most underrated raw materials. Bamboo is sustainable, renewable, grows relatively quickly and its natural beauty makes it unique.
Strong
Bamboo is as strong as steel and has greater tensile strength. This is due to the hard surface and parallel fiber bundles of the bamboo stalks that are close together.
Elastic
Bamboo has the advantage of being super elastic. It is so flexible that it returns to the starting position every time and does not deform after bending.
Versatile
Thanks to its high stability, bamboo easily lasts a lifetime. Hence, bamboo is increasingly used in public spaces, construction and as decking/terrace boards and fences.

You can easily attach a split bamboo mat to an existing wall or fence with our special 3.2 x 25 mm mounting screws or wire staples. Place the screws between the bamboo strips and screw them so that the washer presses the bamboo strips against the wall.
Do not screw directly through the bamboo strips to avoid splitting them. Place the wire staples over the iron wire and hammer them into the background. Do not punch the staples through the bamboo strips to avoid splitting them.
You can also attach a split bamboo mat very easily against a mesh panel, metal fence or balcony using tie wires or tie-wraps. Bend the tie wires around the galvanized metal wire that runs through the split bamboo mat and pull it tight to the metal fence or balcony.
A great advantage of the split bamboo canes is that they are easy to cut to size, it is very fine material to work with. You can easily shorten the width by cutting the galvanized metal wires at the desired width with a pair of pincers. To adjust the height, you can cut or trim the bamboo strips to the desired height with pruning shears.
