South American Bamboo Stick Guadua is available in various diameters and lengths. Guadua bamboo is known as the strongest bamboo species in the world with an exceptionally high load-bearing capacity and a tensile strength higher than that of mild steel. These unique mechanical properties make Guadua bamboo poles the undisputed number one choice among innovative architects and engineers specialising in green and sustainable building of various structures.

We also have the Guadua poles in our showroom and inspiration garden. Here, you can view this Bamboo Stick Guadua and possibly pick and take it directly from our warehouse. WORKING WITH BAMBOO
Bamboo canes can be connected in many different ways. Most techniques use rope and/or threaded ends. But more advanced methods, such as the fish-mouth connection or peg-and-hole connection, are also possible.

Of course, you can also screw down the bamboo stick. Here we recommend always pre-drilling to minimise the risk of cracks.

Cutting bamboo is best done with a Japanese saw. This special bamboo saw has small sharp teeth that allow you to cut easily, quickly and precisely.

If you wish to place bamboo sticks in the ground, we recommend applying Bamboo Ground Protector to the part to be placed in the ground. This special black coating preserves the bamboo and protects it from rot.

PROPERTIES
Each bamboo pole is unique. Colour differences and variations in the width of the bamboo canes are normal for this natural product. Vertical cracking is also a natural property of the material. Especially in the hot and dry months of the year, vertical cracks can appear in bamboo. In humid and cold weather, the cracks are smaller than in dry and hot weather. The cracking of bamboo does not directly affect its lifespan.

A natural property of bamboo poles is that the canes are thicker at the base than at the top. The gradient of the bamboo canes depends on the bamboo species and the length of the cane. Our indicated dimensions are always measured at the thickest end of the bamboo stick. Are you looking for a specific size? Feel free to visit us to pick out the bamboo sticks yourself.

Bamboo is a natural product, therefore bamboo poles are never 100% straight and there may be colour differences between them.

Bamboo Benefits

With photosynthesis, bamboo extracts CO2 from the air and releases oxygen. Bamboo produces about 40% more oxygen than wood and absorbs up to 35% more CO2 than wood. That makes bamboo better for CO2 offsetting than wood.

More about Bamboo

Bamboo & Environment

The use of bamboo greatly reduces the greenhouse effect and climate change. Bamboo absorbs greenhouse gases and releases 35% more oxygen into the atmosphere than an equivalent species of hardwood. This is due to its high growth rate and photosynthesis. Climate change has been an issue for several years, which is why bamboo could be included as a certified hardwood. Bamboo is also suitable for biomass production because it gives the second highest biomass on earth.
