Our Bamboo Protector has a new water-based formula. This transparent stain adheres better and is less glossy. It forms a natural and matte protective layer. If you want to make graying bamboo shine again, we recommend our Bamboo Renovator or Bamboo Renovator Dark.

Bamboo Protector is a specially developed, transparent UV stain for outdoor use. Bamboo Protector provides protection against graying of bamboo products. Bamboo Protector is also suitable for wood or other natural materials.

This transparent stain can be applied to both natural and black bamboo and is ideal for treating bamboo poles, fences and pergolas.

Bamboo Protector has a satin look that emphasizes the deep, warm and natural color of bamboo. This product is water-based.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Make sure the bamboo surface is clean, dry and grease-free before applying Bamboo Protector. Open the can and stir well before use. Then you can apply the Bamboo Protector with a flat brush such as our Disposable Brush. We recommend applying 2 coats for optimal protection. You cannot apply the product at a temperature lower than 10°C and/or a relative humidity higher than 85%.

Store Bamboo Protector in a cool, frost-free place and out of reach of children.

To your bamboo products long-term protection against aging, we recommend a new coat of Bamboo Protector annually. Want to bring back the color of your bamboo? Then we recommend, instead of Bamboo Protector, to use our Bamboo Renovator for natural bamboo or our Black Bamboo Renovator for dark bamboo.

DRY TIME
After application, Bamboo Protector is dust-dry after about 1.5 hours, thumbfast after about 4 hours and repaintable after about 16 hours

Bamboo Benefits

With photosynthesis, bamboo extracts CO2 from the air and releases oxygen. Bamboo produces about 40% more oxygen than wood and absorbs up to 35% more CO2 than wood. That makes bamboo better for CO2 offsetting than wood.

More about Bamboo

Bamboo & Environment

The use of bamboo greatly reduces the greenhouse effect and climate change. Bamboo absorbs greenhouse gases and releases 35% more oxygen into the atmosphere than an equivalent species of hardwood. This is due to its high growth rate and photosynthesis. Climate change has been an issue for several years, which is why bamboo could be included as a certified hardwood. Bamboo is also suitable for biomass production because it gives the second highest biomass on earth.
