A beautiful pergola for creating a cozy spot in the garden or on the terrace. The pergola is made of the bamboo species Java Black. This bamboo has a natural, dark brown color and comes from Indonesia. Our Bamboo Pergola Java Black comes as a kit, including fasteners. The Bamboo Pergola Java Black is available in various standard sizes and further customizable.
The Bamboo Pergola Java Black is suitable for climbing plants to grow against. The roof of the pergola can be covered with straw roofs or bamboo mats for a beautiful, tropical look or a shaded area. Finally, manila rope can be used to wrap the joints to give the pergola a very exclusive look.
INSTALLATION
For the most stable placement of the pergola, we recommend fixing it on post holders or securing it into the ground. You can easily order the required post holders and M8 bolts and nuts. When securing in the ground, we recommend treating the part that goes into the ground with our Ground Protector to prevent mold and rot.
You still have to cut the studs we send along to size yourself. You can easily cut the studs with a hacksaw or grinder. The washers and nuts you need are included in this package.
FEATURES
Each pergola bamboo pole is unique. Colour differences and variations in the width of the bamboo poles are normal with this natural product. Vertical cracking is also a natural property of the material. Especially in the hot and dry months of the year, vertical cracks can appear in bamboo. In humid and cold weather, the cracks are smaller than in dry and hot weather. The cracking of the bamboo does not affect the lifespan of the pergola.
The diameter of each bamboo pole varies. A natural property of bamboo poles is that they are thicker at the base than at the top. The gradient of the bamboo poles depends on the bamboo species and the length of the pole. Java bamboo poles have almost no taper. Our indicated dimensions are always measured at the thickest end of the bamboo stick. Are you looking for a specific size, shape or colour? If so, please visit us to pick out the bamboo sticks yourself.
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
After installing the Bamboo Pergola Java Black you can apply our Bamboo Protector. A specially developed colorless/transparent stain that protects the bamboo from tarnish and discoloration. With outdoor use, bamboo graying and discoloration, just like any natural material. We therefore recommend to treat bamboo annually, preferably in spring, with our Bamboo Renovator Dark, a specially developed stain that protects the bamboo and restores the color. Bamboo Renovator Dark is easy to apply to cleaned bamboo using a brush. Use thin layers and spread the Bamboo Renovator Dark well. To clean bamboo you can use our Bamboo Cleaner. Possibly in stubborn dirt / deposits bamboo can also be sprayed off with a high pressure cleaner. But at an appropriate distance to avoid damage.LOOKING FOR A SHINY RESULT
An alternative maintenance product is also available. That is Bamboo Booster. Bamboo Booster is a natural oil that can be easily applied with a cloth. With this oil you get a nice shiny result. The oil protects and nourishes the bamboo, but does not slow down the process of discoloration.Bamboo Booster can be applied several times a year for optimal results. The oil can only not be combined with our Bamboo Protector and Bamboo Renovator Dark stain.

Bamboo Benefits
With photosynthesis, bamboo extracts CO2 from the air and releases oxygen. Bamboo produces about 40% more oxygen than wood and absorbs up to 35% more CO2 than wood. That makes bamboo better for CO2 offsetting than wood.
