Choose a bamboo garden screen from Bamboo Import
In contrast to flexible bamboo mats on a roll, Bamboo garden screens are fixed panels on which the bamboo canes are connected to each other by means of horizontal bamboo skewers. This creates strong and robust garden screens that can be placed between wooden garden posts.
So are you laying out a new garden? Or do you have an old fence that you want to replace? Then a bamboo screen can be a very beautiful solution. It is a natural product that can be easily processed. The bamboo garden screens are naturally closed at the top, so it is not necessary to place a cover strip at the top. Furthermore, a bamboo garden screen is easy to make to size.
Bamboo is one of the most underrated raw materials. Bamboo is sustainable, renewable, grows relatively quickly and its natural beauty makes it unique.
Bamboo is as strong as steel and has greater tensile strength. This is due to the hard surface and parallel fiber bundles of the bamboo stalks that are close together.
Bamboo has the advantage of being super elastic. It is so flexible that it returns to the starting position every time and does not deform after bending.
Thanks to its high stability, bamboo easily lasts a lifetime. Hence, bamboo is increasingly used in public spaces, construction and as decking/terrace boards and fences.

To enjoy your semi-circular screens for as long as possible, it is important that they are mounted properly. It is important to avoid direct contact with the ground. We recommend that the bamboo semi-circular screens just barely touch the ground, so that they do not end up in water for long periods of time. After all, this can cause discolouration and mould over time.
To attach a semi-circular bamboo screen to a wooden fence or wall, drill 4-mm holes through the horizontal bamboo slats running behind the screen. Note, pre-drilling is important here, as bamboo may otherwise crack. Do this every four semi-circular bamboo poles and screw the bamboo fence with 4 x 40 mm screws. Screw the bamboo fence parts at the top, middle and bottom for maximum stability. For fixing to a wall, dowels are often used as well. If the semi-circular bamboo screen is secured against a mesh panel, it is best to do this with tie-wraps or iron wire around the four bamboo slats.
CUSTOMISE BAMBOO SCREENSNeed a size other than the standard size? Fortunately, our bamboo screens are easy to shorten. The width of the half-round bamboo screen can easily be adjusted by untying the palm rope and cutting the cross slats to the desired size. After this, tie the palm rope back together and place the fence in the desired position.
To adjust the height of the half-round bamboo screen, you can saw off the bamboo half-round posts at the bottom and/or top. To do this, preferably use a saw blade with fine teeth (a Japanese saw). Before sawing, tape the halved bamboo poles with strong tape on the saw edge to avoid splintering. Saw calmly and preferably by hand.
