To enjoy your bamboo mat as long as possible, it is important that it is mounted properly. Please avoid direct contact with the ground. We therefore recommend to place the mats just above ground level, so they do not remain damp for long periods. After all, this can cause discoloration and mold over time.
To attach a Bamboo mat Deluxe Natural against a wooden fence or wall, first drill holes of 4 mm through the bamboo sticks. Pre-drilling is important because bamboo may otherwise crack. Do this every + / - 20 cm and screw down the bamboo mat with 4 x 70 mm screws. Screw the bamboo mat at the top and bottom for maximum stability. For fixing to a wall are often also plugs used.
If the Bamboo mat Deluxe Natural against a mesh panel is fixed, it is best to do this with tie-wraps or tie wires. These can be tied around the iron wire of the mat every +/- 20 cm. Attach the mat at the top and bottom for maximum stability.
Need a size other than the standard? Fortunately, our mats are easy to customize. The width of the mat can be easily adjusted by cutting the iron wires. After cutting the iron wires, they can be bent over again.
To adjust the height of the Bamboo mat Tonkin, you can cut the bamboo poles at the bottom and/or top. To do this, preferably use a saw blade with fine teeth (a Japanese saw). Before sawing, tape the bamboo posts on the cutting edge with strong tape to avoid splintering. Saw quietly and preferably by hand.
Bamboo is one of the most underrated raw materials. Bamboo is sustainable, renewable, grows relatively quickly and its natural beauty makes it unique.
Bamboo is as strong as steel and has greater tensile strength. This is due to the hard surface and parallel fiber bundles of the bamboo stalks that are close together.
Bamboo has the advantage of being super elastic. It is so flexible that it returns to the starting position every time and does not deform after bending.
Thanks to its high stability, bamboo easily lasts a lifetime. Hence, bamboo is increasingly used in public spaces, construction and as decking/terrace boards and fences.
