Open the can and stir the oil carefully before use. Apply the oil with a brush in an even thin layer and treat the front sides first. The oil has a dark color. Treat the entire surface at once and spread the oil thoroughly. Remove excess oil with a clean cloth within 5 minutes or less. Pay special attention to the joints and grooves, as the oil often remains thicker there.
It takes 24 to 48 hours for the oil to fully cure; the exact time will depend on weather conditions and temperature. During this time, the bamboo surface should not come in contact with water (rain). Once dry, the bamboo can be rubbed down for an extra durable surface. This can be done with a hand pad or a single disc machine.
Store Bamboo Shield Thermo in a dark, dry place and out of the reach of children. To protect your bamboo products from aging in the long term, treat them annually with Bamboo Shield Thermo.
