Open the can and stir the oil carefully before use. Apply the oil with a brush in an even thin layer, treating the ends first. The oil has a creamy color when in liquid state. Treat the entire surface at once, spreading the oil thoroughly. Remove excess oil with a clean cloth within 5 minutes or less. Pay special attention to joints and grooves, where the oil often remains thicker.
It takes 24 to 48 hours for the oil to fully cure, depending on weather conditions and temperature. During this time, the bamboo surface should not come in contact with water. Once dry, the bamboo can be rubbed down for an extra durable surface. This can be done with a hand pad or a single disc machine.
Store Bamboo Shield Nano in a dark, dry place and out of the reach of children. To protect your bamboo products from aging in the long term, we recommend an annual treatment with Bamboo Shield Nano.

With photosynthesis, bamboo extracts CO2 from the air and releases oxygen. Bamboo produces about 40% more oxygen than wood and absorbs up to 35% more CO2 than wood. That makes bamboo better for CO2 offsetting than wood.
