A Straw Roof on stick made of dried palm leaves provides a beautiful, natural roof covering and a summer atmosphere. The natural material is perfect for covering canopies, sheds, pergolas or umbrellas. The Straw roofs on stick have a natural color which makes them also usable as a decorative material.

The length of the palm leaves is about 70 cm. The leaves are sandwiched between two bamboo slats and then secured with an additional double bamboo slat. Palm leaves as roofing, when properly assembled, have an average lifespan of between 3 and 10 years. This depends in part on weather conditions and where the Straw Roofs on Stick are installed.

These Straw Roofs on stick are not impregnated. For indoor use or use as a roof we strongly recommend treating the roofs with our fire retardant spray.

We also have these Straw Roofs on stick in our inspiration garden. Here you can view the Straw Roof on stick and take it with you directly from our warehouse. Because we source our materials directly from the source, you are assured of the best price and unique materials with us.

    Bamboo Benefits

With photosynthesis, bamboo extracts CO2 from the air and releases oxygen. Bamboo produces about 40% more oxygen than wood and absorbs up to 35% more CO2 than wood. That makes bamboo better for CO2 offsetting than wood.

    More about Bamboo

    Bamboo & Environment

The use of bamboo greatly reduces the greenhouse effect and climate change. Bamboo absorbs greenhouse gases and releases 35% more oxygen into the atmosphere than an equivalent species of hardwood. This is due to its high growth rate and photosynthesis. Climate change has been an issue for several years, which is why bamboo could be included as a certified hardwood. Bamboo is also suitable for biomass production because it gives the second highest biomass on earth.
