Split Bamboo Mat
This split bamboo mat is made of thin bamboo strips. These strips are +/- 1 cm wide by 3 mm thick and are joined together with galvanised steel wire. As standard, our split bamboo mats are available in various sizes, but can easily be shortened in height and width if required.
This mat is easy to attach to a metal fence or existing fence. Split mats are also a perfect option for affordable natural partitions at events and festivals.
While ordering, bear in mind that a split mat is not 100% sight-proof; if you do want a bit more privacy, we recommend double fixing the mats for optimal density.
The lifespan of a split mat is on average 2 to 5 years, depending on where you place the mats and the weather conditions.
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
After installing the bamboo mats you can apply our Bamboo Protector, a specially developed colorless/transparent stain that protects the bamboo from tarnish and discoloration. With outdoor use, bamboo will gray and discolor, just like any natural material. We therefore recommend to treat bamboo annually, preferably in spring, with our Bamboo Protector, a specially developed stain that protects the bamboo and restores the color. Bamboo Renovator is easy to apply to cleaned bamboo using a brush. When doing so, use thin layers and spread Bamboo Renovator well. For cleaning bamboo you can use our Bamboo Cleaner. Possibly with stubborn dirt / deposits bamboo can also be sprayed off with a high pressure cleaner. But at an appropriate distance to avoid damage.LOOKING FOR A SHINY RESULT
There is also an alternative maintenance product available. Namely the Bamboo Booster, this is a natural oil that can be easily applied with a cloth. With this oil you get a nice shiny result. The oil protects and nourishes the bamboo, but does not slow down the process of discoloration.Bamboo Booster can be applied several times a year for optimal results. The oil can only not be combined with our Bamboo Protector and Bamboo Renovator stain.
